Gaelic Songwriting Weekend
In partnership with Historic Environment Scotland, we are offering young Gaelic speakers the chance to attend a Gaelic songwriting weekend with Gaelic singer, Mischa Macpherson.
This free residential weekend will take place from February 19th to 22nd and will be held at The Old Brewery in Cromarty. It is open to young Gaelic speakers from S1-S6.
The aim of this workshop is to create new music and songs inspired by Urquhart Castle. In early 2020, we brought together young writers and musicians from across the Highlands who wrote words and lyrics inspired by the castle in Gaelic. Now that we can finally return, you will work together to bring these songs to life.
The workshops are open to any instrument/singers/songwriters, and will be held through the medium of Gaelic. No previous songwriting/composition experience is required. Registrations are now open here.
