Highland Youth Music Forum

Highland Youth Music Forum Conference: Music – A Universal Language

  • Date: 12th September, 10.30am – 3pm
  • Venue: Spectrum Centre, Inverness
  • Cost: Free, lunch provided
  • How to book: Please visit Eventbrite to book your free place.

This event is aimed at those delivering, organising, or interested in music education. We would love to welcome people from a wide range of musical genres!

This conference has been organised by a group of Highland students, the Highland Music Influencers, who are keen for music educators to explore music as a universal language. The day will consist of practical workshops, discussions, and live performances.

Highland Music Influencers

This year’s Highland Youth Music Forum project will see young people design and lead a music teacher conference. A new youth group called the ‘Highland Music Influencers’ has so far taken part in leadership, marketing and workshop facilitation training sessions in preparation for organising and running the youth music conference for teachers, instructors and tutors taking place in September.

The HYMF Twitter youth take over!

The group has also been sharing music happenings in their local area on the HYMF Twitter.

We are also delighted to reveal our shiny new HYMF website! Check it out to find youth music providers and opportunities across the Highlands.

Connect with the forum

The Highland Youth Music Forum was set up in 2012 to bring together organisations and individuals who provide opportunities for young people (ages 0-25) to participate in music making activities across the Highlands.

Youth providers share information on the HYMF website, Facebook group and Twitter pages, making the HYMF your one-stop-shop for youth music information in Highland!

The HYMF is a project managed by Fèis Rois in partnership with High Life Highland, and with funding support from Creative Scotland’s Strengthening Youth Music fund.
