Tha Fèis Rois air a riaghladh le Bòrd Stiùiridh a bhios a’ coinneachadh ceithir tursan sa bhliadhna. Thèid ar Coinneamh Bhliadhnail a chumail gach Samhain agus faodaidh duine sam bith bhon mhòr-shluagh a dhol chun na coinneimh sin. Thoiribh sùil air ar duilleig le naidheachdan airson fiosrachadh mun tachartas sin nas fhaisge air an àm.

Tha Shona ag obair mar leas-dheasaiche naidheachdan aig a’BhBC ann an Inbhir Nis. Tha i air a bhith ag obair dhan BhBC fad còrr air 20 bliadhna, an toiseach ann an Glaschu. Rugadh is thogadh Shona anns na Hearadh agus tha i fileanta ann an Gàidhlig. Tha ùidh mhòr aice ann an òrain is bàrdachd Gàidhlig agus mar a tha ceòl na mheadhan airson daoine, sean is òg, a thoirt còmhla.

Duncan Chisholm

Duncan Chisholm

Se Donnchadh aon den luchd-ciùil as cliùitiche ann an Alba. Tha e na shàr chluicheadair fìdhle agus na sgrìobhaiche ciùil sònraichte. Rugadh is thogadh e faisg air Inbhir Nis agus tha e air a chuid mhòr de bheatha a chuir seachad a’leasachadh a chuid ciùil. Tha e air siubhal air feadh na RA, na Roinn Eòrpa agus na Stàitean Aonaichte. Tha e ag obair leis fhèin, còmhla ri Julie Fowlis agus còmhla ris a’chòmhlan Wolfstone. Ann an 2015, chaidh Donnchadh fhasdadh mar stiùiriche Càirdean is Coimhearsnachd – pròiseact òigridh Fèis Rois a tha ag amas air daoine òga a bhrosnachadh gu bhith cruthachail le sgilean eitn-eòlais, fiolmadh agus a bhith a’sgrìobhadh fuinn is ceòl.

Jennifer Marshall

Chair

Se neach-lagh a th’ ann an Jennifer agus chur i seachad grunn bhliadhnaichean ag obair ‘sa bhaile mhòr le companaidh coimeirsealta. Thill i dhan Ghàidhealtachd o chionn ghoirid airson obair le Puirt-adhair na Gàidhealtachd is nan Eilean. Tha Gàidhlig aice agus tha ùidh aice ann an ceòl na pìoba agus òrain Ghàidhlig.  Tha i air a bhith an sàs ann an tachartasan Fèis Rois mar dheugaire agus mar inbheach airson còrr is fichead bliadhna.

Se pìobaire agus stiùiriche companaidh eadar lìon a th’ ann an Alex. Tha e cuideachd air bòrd coimhearsnachd pròiseact ath-nuadhachail. Nuair a bha Alex òg, bhiodh e a’ gabhail pàirt ann an tòrr de thachartasan Fèis Rois – nam measg fèisean òigridh agus inbhich, sàr chlasaichean, cuairt nan cèilidhean agus iomadach pròiseact eile. Tha e a’ cumail a-mach gu bheil na rinn e tro na bliadhhnaichean air leth cudromach dhan tuigse agus an spèis a th’ aig do cheòl, cànan is cultur na h-Alba. Tha e an dòchas le bhith na phàirt den bhòrd, gun cuidich e le bhith dèanamh cinnteach gu faigh tòrr a bharrachd dhaoine na h-aona chothroman ‘sa fhuair esan.

Grace Stewart Skinner

Rugadh agus thogadh i air a’ Ghàidhealtachd. Tha Grace na clàrsair air leth inntinneach a bha air a cuairteachadh le ceòl traidiseanta Albannach fad a beatha. Fhritheil i mòran fhèisean nuair a bha i san sgoil agus bha i air leth toilichte a bhith mar phàirt de Chèilidh air Chuairt Fèis Rois ann an 2019. Choisinn Grace duais ‘Hands Up For Trad ‘Inspiration Award’’ agus chaidh seo a bhuileachadh oirre aig Duaisean Ceòl Traidiseanta Alba MG Alba ann an 2017. O chionn ghoirid, cheumnaich Grace à Oilthigh Dhùn Èideann le MA ann an Ceilteis. A-nis, bidh i a’ leantainn a cùrsa-obrach ciùil làn-ùine na cumadair-ciùil agus na neach-ciùil. Tha ùidh aice ann a bhith a’ cur ri saoghal a’ chiùil thraidiseanta agus ga dhèanamh na àite aoigheil, sàbhailte agus in-ghabhalach.

Calum Macaulay

Calum Macaulay

‘S e cunntasair clàraichte a tha ann an Calum agus tha e air a bhith ag obair ann an Inbhir Nis bho 2005 a’ toirt comhairle do ghnìomhachasan le sealbhadairean mar as trice ann an roinnean dùthchail, aoigheachd agus turasachd. Thogadh Calum ann an Leòdhas agus tha e ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig. Ged nach eil comas ciùil aige, tha ùidh aige ann an Ceòl Traidiseanta na h-Alba agus sa bhuaidh a dh’fhaodas a bhith aige air ar coimhearsnachdan agus an leas.

Chloë Bryce

Sann à Taobh Sear Rois a tha Chloë bho thùs. Thàinig i chun an tuigse a th’ aice air ceòl traidiseanta tro na cothroman a fhuair i ann am fèisean. Bhiodh i dol gu fèisean Fèis Rois agus tha i air a bhith air an àrd-ùrlar air feadh na Rìoghachd Aonaichte agus air feadh an t-saoghail tro Chèilidh air Chuairt. Rinn Chloë fidheall is òrain Ghàidhlig aig Sgoil Chiùil na Gàidhealtachd agus cheumnaich i o chionn ghoirid bho Chonservatoire Rìoghail na h-Alba le ceum aig àrd ìre ann an Ceòl Traidiseanta. Tha spèis mhòr aig Chloë do sheann chultur is chleachdaidhean na Gàidhealtachd agus tha i airson cuideachadh le bhith a’ glèidheadh ceòl, cànan is cultar na sgìre aice fhèin.

Carrie Forbes

Carrie Forbes

After a 10 year career as an auditor, Carrie Forbes now works as a voiceover artist, Gaelic singer and freelance music tutor. Based in Tain, Carrie was a regular participant at Fèis Rois nan Deugairean during her secondary school years. More recently, Carrie has worked as a freelance tutor on the Fèis Rois Lullaby Project, Fèis Club in Tain, and in delivering music making workshops in Highland primary schools as part of the Youth Music Initiative (YMI). She is passionate about Scottish traditional music and the Gaelic language and is looking forward to spending some time on the Feis Rois Board.

Tom Boyd

Tom Boyd

Tom has enjoyed a connection with Fèis Rois for over 15 years. That’s included much personal and family fun, but also collaboration through his work alongside the care experienced community. He is particularly interested in imaginative approaches to creating positive opportunity and change for those who can often find themselves ‘on the edges’ in our communities. He has worked alongside children, young people and families with experience of care for twenty years, in Highland and beyond. He stays in the Black Isle and works for The Promise Scotland.

David Green

David has worked in a variety of public, private and voluntary sectors while building a self-catering enterprise on his croft. David chaired the Scottish Government Instrumental Music Group that recommended Councils cease charging for music tuition for SQA exams. He is a strong supporter of Fèis Rois for the many opportunities that benefited his family, helping their future destinations. Now, as a keen adult Fèis learner, David hopes that by listening to, and learning from the Fèis Rois team, he can add value in an enthusiastic and constructive manner.

Megan Dale

Megan grew up in Ross-Shire, where she was part of Fèis Rois, attending the residential Fèisean in Ullapool and playing with the Kiltearn Fiddlers. She’s fluent in Gaelic, having gone through Gaelic Medium Education in Dingwall, and studied Celtic and Scottish History at the University of Edinburgh. Now living in Glasgow, Megan works at the Gaelic projects agency Astar Media, managing different projects with the Gaelic short-film competition FilmG as one of her priorities.

Don Esson

Don enjoyed a career in education and has worked across the Highlands. He began his career at Dingwall Academy as a teacher of history. For the last 12 years, he was a senior leader for The Highland Council, latterly Area Education and Learning Manager. His previous remits included strategic leadership of education in the West Area, quality improvement, equality and diversity and young carers.  He has a lifelong interest in Scotland’s history, music, arts, and languages. This includes a personal interest in supporting Gaelic education, music and culture.  Don very much welcomes the opportunity of supporting our children and young people in this new capacity.
